SKIN TONES
CONFERENCE 2022

Addressing Skin Tone Bias In Wound Care

CONFERENCE

In 2021, Wounds UK along with a group of key HCPs developed the first-ever set of best practice guidance for addressing skin tone bias in wound care. This document was launched at our Harrogate conference, circulated to TVNs and others through our journal and since November 2021, has been the most downloaded document from the Wounds UK website. Download your copy here.

We’ve collaborated with the best practice development group and others, to create a stimulating programme which will support clinicians in their daily practice. The emphasis will be on providing interactive sessions through which HCPs can better recognise signs and symptoms of wound types in dark skin tones in a variety of wound aetiologies (i.e. not just in pressure ulcers, where most of the available evidence currently exists).
